SUMMER RECIPE WAGON: Parmesan Pita Chips
These homemade chips are tastier than any cheese flavored chips you can buy – They’ll quickly become a family favorite.
Preheat the oven 425F. Using a sharp knife, cut each pita bread into quarters, cut through the middle and split each quarter into two for a total of 48 pieces. Lay the pieces cut-side up on an ungreased baking sheet.
In a small saucepan, heat butter and oil over moderate heat. Add garlic and savory, saute for 15 seconds. Remove the butter mixture from the heat. Brush the mixture over the cut-side of the pita pieces. Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the pita pieces.
Bake the pita until the pieces are crisp and lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Transfer the chips to a rack to let them cool, and pack as a snack to go in a 10-hour personal cooler.

Happy Summer!!
