Arthritis

Preserving the Cartilage

Osteoarthritis in the joints causes the drying up of the synovial fluid.  As a result, the cartilage wears out from this lack of lubrication and causes the ends of the bones to rub together. Consequently, this leads to severe pain and inflammation.  On the other hand, this process slows down by adding essential fatty acids to the diet.  You can find fatty acids in animal food or supplements such as fish oil, cod liver oil, evening primrose oil or borage oil. Glucosamine sulfate found in health food stores is a precursor to cartilage.

Shark Cartilage

The latest testing shows that collagen from the breast bone of chickens is effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis.  Yet, shark cartilage shows through many scientific studies to do the same thing at a much lower cost, but it is not prescribed by medical doctors.

Therapeutic Mushrooms

Reishi mushrooms are effective as an anti-inflammatory for arthritis.  In fact, they have a more powerful effect than prednisone without the harmful side effects.

Bee Venom Injections

Bee venom injections can reduce the inflammation of arthritis.  However, bee keepers do not contact arthritis. For instance, they suffer stings over a period of years and build up an immunity to most inflammatory joint problems.  Caution- the therapy should not be used for people allergic to bee stings. Contact a practitioner in your area who has had experience with bee sting therapy.

Vegetarian Diet

An uncooked vegetarian diet helps rheumatoid arthritis sufferers.

Medication Is Merely Symptomatic Treatment

Medication for rheumatoid arthritis merely alleviates pain.  Most importantly, as the disease continues, prescriptions continue , and eventually comes recommendations for joint replacement .  Cayenne red pepper salve., an over the counter item applied topically to inflamed arthritic joints results in highly positive results.

Buffering Zone

Too much protein in the diet leads to an acidic condition of the body. Therefore, the body buffers this condition by drawing calcium from the blood and transporting it to inflamed acidic sites, usually the joints.  During this process, some of the calcium stays in the joint as calcium deposits. This eventually leads to immobility and wears down the cartilage causing pain and further inflammation.  You can stop this process by taking potassium bicarbonate or Alka Seltzer Gold to alkalinize the system.

Don’t Drink the Water

Fluorine, which has been added to most municipal water supplies to strengthen teeth and bones, causes bone growth in arthritic joints.  Drink steam- distilled water only.
